After reflecting on this blog entry, I wonder how hard it would be to create a distribution list in Moodle that could be used to deliver emails via SMS? For example, you could setup a group composed of mobile numbers. Then, setup a forum just for use with that group. No student would actually login as a group member but you’d be able to spam folks’ mobile phones using that group-specific forum.
I wonder if you could also use Quickmail or another email Moodle module to get the job done easily.
Anyone experimented with this?
