I Voted!

Racing home from work yesterday, I picked up my wife and we made it to the voting location just in time. In fact, I had to do something I seldom do at the library, and which generated a few stares from onlookers–I raced for the voting line, to get IN line before the 6:00 PM cut-off. My wife had already established our place in line, but the parking lot was jammed packed.

There was an excitement about voting palpable in the air. The voting facilitators (what else would those folks be called?) were sharing that it had been long lines all day. Everyone wanted to vote and had been lining up since early voting started in Texas at 8:00 AM that morning. The tone in people’s voices was equally excited.

And personally, as always, it felt great to vote, a feeling I’ve shared with my kids. I hope you’ll make time out of your busy schedule and go vote, especially when you’re voting for the right kind of change!
