iPod Initiatives

Reading Doug Johnson (Old Codger Blog, er, Blue Skunk Blog ), I was thrilled to see that Doug’s enjoying his new iPod Touch. I’m working off a 1st generation iPod Touch but we’re getting ready to roll 2nd generation iPod Touches out to Administrators.

What would we do without these gadgets? Doug shares some of his favorite apps, including:

  • Fring for Skyping – http://www.fring.com/
  • Use SpeakEasy to record audio with a headset and microphone; would this work for podcasting? This works only on iPhones and SECOND generation iPod Touch devices. You have to buy iPhone compatible Earbud headphones with built-in microphone…which costs about $85-$100. Are these the ones you’re using, Doug?

Are any of you launching iPod Touch initiatives for children or administrators? I’m keeping track of professional learning resources at http://tinyurl.com/66qvbt

Now, where did I put my cane? (I turn 40 tomorrow, Doug, so fair game!)
