Text Tool for Windows

Always on the lookout for a text editor, I was pleased to see Karl’s mention of Notepad ++ at MakeUseOf.com sharing the superpowers of this simple text editor that you can either install or just run as an executable on Windows (nifty for those of us who like to have a host of handy tools on a USB Flash drive).

The reason I downloaded it was that I wanted to mass edit a bunch of HTML files (my old Around the Corner site) at once–using the Replace in Files type option that I’ve seen in other text editors like UltraEdit. While the author at MakeUseOf.com says it’s possible (Read How to “Find and Replace” Word in Multiple Files), I did hit a snag and was unable to verify his step by step. I’ve asked for clarification and will wait it out. That said, even if it doesn’t work, NotePad++ is definitely worth checking out as a windows text editor replacement for your text editing needs!
