After reading your blog, I noticed that you cover all things education-related, so I wanted to reach out on behalf of my client, the Ad Council to let you know of a campaign they have developed called BoostUp that aims to encourage students at risk of dropping out to stay in school. Basically this site allows you to give one of the 11 kids in the campaign (or a kid that you know) encouragement (aka giving a “boost”).
Right now we are trying to get as many “Boosts” to these and other kids by role models like you. If you’re interested in blogging about this, I have a video and more information on this site to help spread the message to a larger audience (we have badges and content to steal). I hope you’ll find these stories and videos as touching as I did.
At the very least, we would greatly appreciate if you could take a few seconds to give a kid a boost. It may seem like something small, but it really goes a long way.
Anyone else get this press release? What I found interesting about the release is the link that took me to PitchEngine.com. I’d never heard of Pitch Engine, which does the following:
PitchEngine shakes up the PR industry making it possible for PR pros, brands, and agencies to build and share digital, social media releases with their contacts for free. Our PitchEngine SMR takes the press release to the next level, eliminating the need for antiquated email attachments, word documents, image CDs, and more.
Nifty! I wonder what PR specialists in K-12 schools are doing and how they are handling this aspect of getting “their” story out there.
Full disclosure: I received no payment or compensation whatsoever to share this on my site.
