I recently learned about this web site–GetDeb–where you can download UbuntuLinux Debian (Deb) files that you can easily install on your computer. Some of the files I’ve downloaded and installed successfully include:

• Songbird (great sound player, cross-platform)
  
• Flock browser
  
• Lives – LiVES lets you start editing and making video right away, without having to worry about formats, frame sizes, or framerates. LiVES will let you start creating your own tools, utilities and effects via the built in RFX builder.
