DriverMax for Windows:
DriverMax is a [no-cost] new program which allows you to easily
reinstall all your Windows drivers. No more searching for rare drivers
on discs or on the web or inserting one installation CD after the other.
Simply export all your current drivers (or just the ones that work ok)
to a folder or a compressed file. After reinstalling Windows you will

Both are definitely nice to have even if you’re just just reformatting
your Windows machine…and, they also count as two new tools to keep in
my toolkit when migrating people from Windows machine to a dual boot
Windows (for their must have apps) and GNU/Linux (for virus, spyware free
browsing and everything else).
I didn’t know that you could get a Windows LiveCD, although i did know
about GNU/Linux
Live CDs. Interesting!
A Live CD is a CD-Rom or a DVD-Rom with an operating system that can be
executed from a bootable cd-rom or dvd-rom drive, without having to be
installed in a hard drive. The system can return to its previous
operating system when the computer is rebooted without the LiveCD. (Source)
On another note, what a fascinating
site this is. IronGeek’s has a video
on using Darik’s Boot-n-Nuke, which completely cleans out your hard
drive and makes data recovery improbable, if not impossible (not bad for
HD wiping of confidential student data, etc.).
