While it’s always dangerous to post embed external code in a site–since that slows your page down if the host site is having problems or there is a slow connection–I like this tip from MoodleGirl:

ClockLink is a great website that gives you html code for a FREE clock.
It is possible to add one of these clocks to your Moodle site using an html block.
