ISTE Candidate Endorsement – Paul R Wood

Paul R. Wood, Candidate for ISTE Communications Officer

“Be the change you want to see in the world.” It’s one of the most oft-quoted sentences Gandhi ever uttered (that’s my opinion). I see the quote everywhere and, like many, fall short of living up to it in so many ways. Yet, while it’s easy to spot our own failings, it’s exciting to have others to look up to and say, “You know, that person over there really does manage to get it right.” And, that’s one of the reasons I’m encouraged to vote for Paul R. Wood as ISTE Communications Officer…communications is incredibly important for an organization like ISTE, even more so now that it’s less about managing your image and more about listening and building relationships and connecting with people across culture, political, and ideologies around the globe.

I met Paul R. Wood through the TCEA Technology Education Coordinators (TEC-SIG) Special Interest Group (in Texas, of course). His quiet strength and friendly demeanor made it easy for us to collaborate on various initiatives to bring about change.

To Bring about change…I’m counting on Paul to do just that. Thanks, Paul, for serving as a leader in Texas, and, soon, I hope, a leader at ISTE.
