Swift – Tracking Issues of Interest

Over the last few years, there’s been a desire expressed by some to track what happens at the Texas Education Agency and in Texas in general but enable THE PEOPLE (that’s you, me and everyone else) to provide updates based on what they know. There are several challenges in accomplishing this, but some folks jumped on the idea of OpenTEA.

Paul R. Wood even purchased the domain name. The problem is, getting the work done. A tool I wasn’t aware of before just popped up on my radar:

Swift is a Free and Open Source toolset for crowdsourced situational awareness and is a collaborative effort by several leading organizations in this space. The first use of Swift is as a complement to Ushahidi to monitor the Indian 2009 Elections, which you can see at Vote Report India.

Is this a tool that could work?
