The San Antonio Poetry Fair tentatively will be held Saturday October 31,2009 beginning at 1:00 PM and usually ending about 3:00 PM.Winners will need to arrive at 12:30 PM. Located at the UTSA Downtown Campus in the Buena Vista Street Building. The campus is located between West Durango and South Frio Streets. Location of free parking will be furnished at Fair time. CONTEST DETAILS FOR STUDENTS – KINDERGARTEN / 12th GRADE:

NO ENTRY FEE

DEADLINE TO ENTER: POSTMARK by JUNE 15, 2009

Rules for all contests are the same. Trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winners. Certificates for Honorable Mentions. Poems may be on any subject, original work of the author and limited to 28 lines. Winners are expected to read the poem at the Fair in October or have someone represent you.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION:

1.ONLY ONE POEM PER CONTEST. 2.All poems are limited to 28 lines. 3.No more than 50 characters per line including spaces and punctuation. 4.If lines are excessively long we reserve the right to break lines. 5. At the top of the page enter your NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, E-MAIL address, NAME OF SCHOOL and GRADE. 6. Submit on line in Times New Roman 12 point font. 7. Save in Word 97 DOC or Rich Text Format(RTF) and SEND in Word format to: sanantoniopoetryfair@yahoo.com AND billiestro@aol.com

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO SUBMIT BY E-MAIL, FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS:

Submit TWO copies of your poem. On ONE COPY enter your name, address, phone number and your grade, name of school and teacher in the UPPER LEFT HAND CORNER. Leave the OTHER COPY BLANK.

Mail BOTH copies to: San Antonio Poetry Fair, 7319 Thrush Garden, San Antonio, TX 78209
