Convert MS Publisher to Whatever Format You Want

Someone asked via twitter, “How can I convert a MS Publisher document so that it will work on my Mac’s NeoOffice?” Wild laughter is the usual response, however, Chris Craft (Crucial Thought) pointed out that Zamzar will accomplish the conversion! What a great tip! And, he provided a link with this information:

Use Zamzar.com online. It’s free and it works. Upload your .pub file and it’ll convert it and email it back to you in its new format. It will change .pub files into…

From .pub – Microsoft Publisher to:
doc – Microsoft Word Document
html – Hypertext Markup Language
odt – OpenDocument Text Document
pcx – Paintbrush Bitmap Image
pdf – Portable Document Format
png – Portable Network Graphic
ps – Postscript document
rtf – Rich Text Format
txt – Text document

What a great tip!

  1. yup works well ….except ….. puts everything in text boxes. Gazillions of them. Numbered lists have all the numbers in a separate box for instance.Great if all you want to do is convert and print, but not that usable as a practical tool because of this.cheersGreg
