TCEA Needs You!

I encourage folks in and around San Antonio–part of TCEA Area 20–to nominate themselves or others! In the interests of full disclosure, I have decided to run for TCEA Area 20 Director.

TCEA Needs You!

Leaders from across the state are needed to run for the TCEA Board of Directors. Both Area Director and Executive Committee positions are currently open.

Any regular TCEA member in good standing who is a teacher, administrator, or other employee of an educational entity in the state of Texas is eligible for nomination and election as an Area Director. However, all Area Directors must reside or be employed in the TCEA Areas in which they are running for office. Area Directors serve a two-year term of office and meet several times a year in Austin for board meetings. They represent their local areas (based on the Educational Service Center regions) and help to lead the organization. Area Directors are needed now for the even-numbered areas (2, 4, 6, 8 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20).

Any past or present Board member, either elected or appointed, who is a current member of TCEA in good standing and who is a teacher, administrator, or other employee of an educational entity in the state of Texas is eligible for nomination and election as President Elect, Vice-President Elect (convention), or Vice-President Member Services. State officers must have served as a voting member of the Board of Directors for at least two years prior to taking office. In addition, to be eligible for President Elect, a person must have served an elected term on the Executive Committee.

Nominations close October 1, 2009. The nomination form can be downloaded here by right-clicking and selecting “Save As.” The completed form, along with a digital photo, should be emailed to Katie Treat at treat@tcea.org.
