Please take the time to nominate the brightest and best in Distance Learning in your entity. We need your nominations to find those that make a difference in Distance Learning!
Outstanding Commitment to TxDLA , Individual, Instructional, and Corporate
These awards fall into three classifications: individual, institutional, and corporate, for outstanding service provided to the organization during the past year. They go to the most committed individuals and organizations-those who put their noses to the grindstone and “made things happen” for TxDLA.
Outstanding Commitment to Excellence and Innovation in Distance Learning
This award is for the person, institution, or corporation who has done the most to benefit and advance the applied practice of distance learning, in the opinion of our members, during the past year. For example, an innovative teacher who has passed knowledge and skills on to other teachers in the field or the most innovative solution to applied problems developed within an educational institution or private corporation.
Don Foshee Award for Outstanding TxDLA Leadership
The late Don Foshee was a founding member and first President of TxDLA. This award goes to a TxDLA Board Member, Officer, or Committee Chair who has shown a strong personal commitment, given generously of their time, and provided vigorous support for other TxDLA members to become leaders in the Association.
John A. Baker Memorial Award For Excellence in K-12 Distance Learning –Nominate a teacher in your district that is working hard to promote DL!
In memory of John and in recognition of his lifetime commitment to excellence in teaching, TxDLA established the Annual John A. Baker Memorial Award. We hope that through this award, K-12 teachers will be recognized for their work in the distance learning arena and will be given more opportunities to reach students through the use of educational telecommunications and distance learning technologies. Any K-12 teacher working in public, private, or charter school settings in Texas is eligible and will receive $500 cash, complimentary registration to the Annual Meeting/Conference and Awards Dinner, and complimentary TxDLA membership for the year.
