This past Sunday, Moodle Mayhem Podcast Co-hosts Diana Benner and Miguel Guhlin had the opportunity to interview Julian “Moodleman” Ridden (pictured above). He shares a variety of engaging ideas and responses in this hour chat (view questions asked here) that is well-worth listening to.
He also addresses some of the questions that came up during the Classroom 2.0 LIVE Show that featured Moodle Mayhem co-hosts, Diana Benner and Miguel Guhlin.
Some of the key points that he makes include the following:
- Moodle 2.0 – Overcoming Moodle 1.9’s “dumb” approach to completion. Moodle 2.0 will have completion criteria.
- Every resource now has completion criteria.
- Now you can set conditionals…you can’t move onto the next step UNTIL you finish the first step/prerequisite. This is what the Lesson Module had, but now the whole course can be that way. You have to finish resource 1 before moving onto resource 2, etc. It might not be relative to blended learning but probably is for distance learning.
- Idea of using Moodle course based on Game Theory.
- When to move to Moodle 2.0.
- Moodle 2.0 will require teacher re-training.
- Finding a Moodle Host.
- Alfresco document management system (DMS)
- Moodle and Mahara ePortfolio integration
And much more. Have more specific questions for Julian? Leave them in the comments at Moodle Mayhem.
