Some time ago, I had the chance to catch a tweet via the #edchat hashtag from an Australian colleague (you just never know who you’re going to run into on Twitter these days). After our brief Twitter exchange, she wrote the following at her blog, iTouch Journey:
In Australia, we are restricted at the moment by what we can pick up and read on our devices (mobile phones, iPads/iPod touches etc) so here are some examples of where you can go to read eBooks (or to find free ones!). There are of course commercial sites that are available i.e. the iBookstore for iDevices, Amazon, Borders etc

This is a add-on in Firefox that enables you to read ePub files on the Internet. This is perfect when your students or yourself do not have access to a portable device that you can put in your pocket.
I can’t tell you how many books I’ve read on my Nook, but let’s just say I’m contemplating dumping my entire print book library (quite large) and just go electronic. My daughter talks me out of this periodically after citing a zombie apocalypse looming on the horizon, electromagnetic pulses (EMPs), etc. Ah, the foolishness of the youth! (wink)
