This weekend, I had the opportunity to work on a Moodle 2.x site. One of the requests from instructors included being able to print certificates based on a course completion total of 70%. No big deal, right?
Howdy! I’m using the M2.0 version of Certificate, the must-have activity! However, I’m perplexed by the behavior of Certificate in M2.0 as opposed to 1.9x. My reading of the support sites is imperfect.
In Moodle 1.9, Certificate allows you to set a Required Course Grade (such as 70%) before a certificate is available.
In Moodle 2.0, I don’t see the Required Course Grade option at all.
So, my concern is that in a M2.0 course, someone could print a certificate at any time without actually completing all the activities in the course and achieve the desired minimum course grade.
What am I missing?
For example, in Moodle 1.9 Certificate activity settings, one sees this when trying to require a minimum grade on an activity:
Site administration > Advanced features > Enable conditional access(enableavailability)
Conditional activities must be enabled on the Moodle site before it can be used by the teacher.
