| Phil in his new home |
My daughter shared this picture, and I thought an ode might be fun. And, so, I adapted one from Pindar’s Victory Odes quoted in part via Wikipedia:
Ode to Phil
Creatures for a day! What is a fish?
Where does he dwell? A bit of flotsam
Is his mortal being. But when it comes to Phil
A gleam of light given of human gods
Then rests upon him a watery halo
And blessed are his days ‘neath the gaze of his Fates.
(adapted from Pindar’s Victory Odes)
