Disconnected? Try EasyTetherPro!

Yesterday evening, 10 minutes prior to the start of the Weekly Webinar Series–a collaborative effort between 2 school districts and one organization–my internet wasn’t working. You could hear the howls of despair from upstairs and downstairs, as the family tried to get online.

At 5 minutes until start time, after my children had called TimeWarnerCable in San Antonio, Texas to hear the dreaded message, I sent my co-host (Diana Benner) the text message she was dreading–“There’s an internet outage in our area. Not sure when I will be able to get online.”

As I watched the minutes tick by, my only form of communication my Android phone from T-Mobile (great service!!), I found myself remembering an old trick–tethering my computer to my phone to get Internet.

Easy Tether Pro ($9.99 for Android phones) allowed me to rejoin the conversation online via Adobe Connect, and it was all working pretty “snappy.” I’ve explored this topic before, and was glad I had this solution in my brain somewhere.
