Browser Privacy

Privacy Tests released its list of open source browser, privacy testing. You can see the results online. As I review the list, I realize how little I know about this stuff and how important it is to have someone who does know.

The Top Browsers

So what browsers are the top ones? It seems they include:
  • Librewolf (6 failed privacy tests)
  • Brave (18 failed privacy tests)
  • Chrome (more than 47 failed privacy tests)
If you’re wondering, Google Chrome just did horribly. However, Librewolf, a Firefox derivative, came out on top followed by Brave. The rest of the pack (e.g. Edge, Firefox, Opera, Safari), well, not so much.

Can You Guess What My New Browser Is?

As much as I enjoy using Edge, after some thorough testing, I’ll be dumping it in favor of Librewolf. I was already relying on Brave, and it’s been a long time since Chrome or Firefox have found their way onto my Windows box. Linux Mint, Firefox and Brave. What’s made the transition to any browser is the use of tools like Bitwarden, which make it easy to use my logins/pwds for any site.
Give Librewolf and Bitwarden a try.
