Audible is iced

As part of my move to send a message, no matter how inconsequential, to Amazon, which reduced its diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, I can report following through on cancellation of Audible.

I started listening to Audible after exhausting available free content of interest on LibreVox back in 2016. I listened to audiobooks on my three hour a day commute to a new job, and it was a lifesaver.

I hate to see Audible go (it has already been deleted) as it was an old friend. But I found an alternative way to listen to books, and it works well.

Here is the email from Audible:

We’re confirming that your Audible membership was cancelled on January 31, 2025 at 21:43 PM EST and you no longer have access to member benefits. Your email and password are still active, and any titles you bought are yours to keep.

You can also keep listening any free podcasts, and buy titles on the Audible site anytime without membership.

To reactivate your membership, visit your Account Details page or contact us anytime.
