Wow, it’s already Day 3 of TCEA Convention. Today’s an even more special day. The TCEA Leadership Summit will take place today, and there is an awesome lineup of speakers. The one I’m really interested in highlighting is Lacey Gosch.

Here’s a little background info on Lacey from the HHRG bio:
About Dr. Lacey Gosch
Dr. Lacey Gosch currently holds the position of Assistant Superintendent of Technology for
Judson Independent School District. Previously, she served seven years as the Chief Academic Officer for Navarro ISD. She has held a variety of roles in the corporate and education industries acting as the Senior Vice President of Nixon State Bank, Executive Director of Technology and Director of Instructional Technology for Southwest ISD.Dr. Gosch began her career as a high school teacher and proceeded to expand in her profession at the district level. She earned her undergraduate and Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Baylor University and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University and an Educational Doctorate in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University.
Dr. Gosch has been published on a variety of topics and has made an impact in technology by sharing her experiences in remediation and leadership during and after a ransomware event. She is noteworthy of breaking the barriers of the topic in discussion and presentation through many technology summits and events.
I still remember the second time I saw Lacey present. We were both working in the San Antonio ISD, and I set her up to present on an initiative we were hoping to launch. I’d done my part at the Superintendent’s Cabinet and C&I meeting, but then Lacey stepped up and elevated the level of the conversation. I still remember the Superintendent at the time leaning into my boss, an Assistant Superintendent, to ask, “Is this person working for us?” He was obviously impressed, as we all were with Lacey’s poise and eloquence.

Introducing the AI Journey
TCEA will be announcing the AI Journey at this event, and it’s pretty exciting. Here’s a little excerpt from the website:
Step into the future of teaching and learning with TCEA’s AI in Education Journey, a transformative experience designed for teachers and administrators alike. Educators will gain hands-on expertise with the best AI tools to personalize learning, streamline workflows, and engage students.
Meanwhile, administrators and leaders will develop actionable strategies, ethical policies, and data-driven insights to implement AI initiatives that drive institutional growth and success.

I am so jazzed about the TCEA AI Journey, since I’ve spent a lot of time working on it. I can’t wait to leverage the entire team at TCEA to the benefit of schools and districts that haven’t been able to get going with AI, and whose borders are over-run by AI hype and fear. Time to chart a course forward.
