This was an eye-opening read:

Before 2022, Governor Greg Abbott had offered lukewarm support for vouchers. Then prior to the 2023 legislative session, he proclaimed them a priority. It’s no coincidence that around this time, he began collecting millions from pro-voucher donors.

I had a chat today with a young man about schools, reform, and teacher morale. I spent some time encouraging him to look at the big picture. It’s too easy to focus on classroom or campus level problems.

I wish I had seen this report from Texas Monthly since it captures the issues schools may allegedly contend with…determined opposition from powerful forces making money off taxpayer dollars to the expense of schools.

It’s a hypothesis. What do you think?
