This came as no surprise from Republican lawmakers in Texas, glad to joust with windmills they perceive to be giants, albeit all in their imagination…

Brandon Creighton has filed bills that would ban diversity, equity and inclusion policies related to hiring and programming, while creating ways for parents to complain about violations to the DEI ban…“Schools must not push woke agendas on our kids,” Abbott said during his State of the State address in early February. “Schools are for education, not indoctrination.”

Those efforts mirror attempts to eliminate diversity at the federal level. On Feb. 14, the U.S. Department of Education issued a letter to schools across the country giving them two weeks to ban such efforts on their campuses and threatening a loss of funding if schools don’t comply. These people keep saying, “Woke agendas.” But there’s no “woke” agenda. There’s just the plain, actual history of what happened.

People killing Indigenous peoples (chopping off their hands, too), enslaving Black people for profit and power. It’s horrible. But it happened. When you say you don’t want kids learning about that, I get it.

But they have to learn about it sometime. High school is not a bad time to learn. The problem is, they don’t want anyone knowing about it.

Probably because they plan to do it again. They ARE doing it again. Pursuing profit and power at the expense of human lives, security, etc. From local to international, it’s clear what MAGA Republican legislators want.

You know what? My Dad fought and served so we could be awake, take responsibility for our actions. What’s wrong with that?
