Doña Quixote y el Tesoro del Trabajo Duro

🌻 Story: Doña Quixote y el Tesoro del Trabajo Duro

One sunny morning, Doña Quixote and Sancho Panza zipped through time and landed in a small Texas town in the year 2025. A friendly robot gardener waved at them.

“¡Bienvenidos! We need help planting our community garden,” the robot said. “But first, we must clear the rocks from the field.”

Sancho scratched his head. “¿Primero the rocks? That’s the hardest part, Doña.”

Doña Quixote adjusted her sunhat. “Ah, mi escudero, to enjoy the fruta, we must first plant the seeds. ¡A trabajar!”

Sancho looked longingly at a shady hammock with a pitcher of lemonade nearby. “But that lemonade is calling my name, Doña…”

She chuckled. “Delayed gratification, Sancho. It means waiting for something good until after we do the hard work.”

Grumbling, Sancho picked up a shovel. “Okay, okay, pero I want extra ice in my lemonade.”

For hours, they cleared rocks, pulled weeds, and finally planted rows of tomatoes, peppers, and sunflowers. Their backs were sore, and their hands dirty.

Finally, the robot gardener beeped happily. “¡Trabajo excelente! Now, you may rest.”

Sancho collapsed into the hammock. “Ay, this feels even better after all that trabajo duro!”

Doña Quixote sipped her lemonade. “See, amigo? Doing the hard part first makes the reward feel más sabroso.”

They watched the garden under the Texas sky, knowing their effort would bring good things soon.
