This morning, I snuck a peek at my RSS reader to see what magic had ended up in the dreamcatcher. And, found that none of my blog entries which drop in the wee hours before dawn had appeared.
I had switched my Android RSS reader the night before. I had moved from Feedreader to Feeder. Could that be the issue? It wasn’t.
The problem was the RSS Feed was relying on an old domain that I allowed to expire. The correct RSS Feed address is as follows…
https://mguhlin.org/RSS
or
https://mguhlin.org/feed/
Please update your RSS reader/aggregator with one of these addresses.
A Simple List of RSS readers
If you haven’t looked at RSS readers recently, let me save you some time. Here is my current list of contenders for every platform:
- Feeder (Android): A fully open-source, local-first reader that is lightweight, privacy-focused, and requires no account registration.
- Read You (Android): A modern, elegant RSS reader that uses Material You design for a clean, magazine-style reading experience on mobile.
- Vivaldi Feed Reader (Desktop): A built-in tool integrated directly into the Vivaldi browser sidebar that manages news, podcasts, and YouTube subscriptions like emails.
- FeedBro (Browser Extension): A powerful, standalone extension for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge that features advanced filtering rules and social media feed integration.
For iOS users, I recommend NetNewsWire.
