Curious about Claude’s offerings, I asked it to lay out the courses for me as an educator. Here’s what it came up with.
Wait, Before You Explore That
Take a quick look at these curated lists of Gen AI learning opportunities, mostly free.
- Free Gen AI Training Opportunities: This is a collection of Gen AI self-paced, free (as far as I know) courses.
- TCEA Online Courses: You’ll want to check out the TCEA AI Courses and Knowledge Boosters.
I am also looking forward to a new “Think with Claude” knowledge booster that launches next week. It’s a great intro to Claude available via your browser, and features a technical overview. Of course, Claude Cowork and Code will probably be their own boosters given how much you can do with them.

Claude’s Recommendation for Its Free Courses
After putting together the Think with Claude knowledge booster, I realized I wanted to go a little deeper. One way to do that is to take these Claude courses, even though some of it may be review.

The review would start with Round 1, then move to Round 2 to learn more stuff, depending on how much I can stretch my brain. I really have to space my learning out just to give myself time to process new ideas and concepts.
| Round | Priority | Course | Modules | Est. Time* | Why for You | Prereqs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Round 1 | 1 | AI Fluency: Framework & Foundations | ~20 | 2–3 hrs | Required prerequisite for both educator courses; covers the 4D Framework you’ll be teaching | None |
| Round 1 | 2 | AI Fluency for Educators | ~8 | 1–1.5 hrs | Applies the framework to course design, outcomes, and assignments — take this as a learner before leading others through it | Course above |
| Round 1 | 3 | Teaching AI Fluency | ~11 | 1.5–2 hrs | Teaches you to deliver and assess AI Fluency in instructor-led settings; covers assignment design and disciplinary application | Course #1 |
| Round 1 Total | ~5–6.5 hrs | |||||
| Round 2 | 4 | Claude 101 | ~16 | 1.5–2 hrs | Practical product fluency — Projects, Artifacts, Cowork, Research mode. Good baseline before going deeper technically | None |
| Round 2 | 5 | Claude Code in Action | ~20 | 2–3 hrs | Intro to AI-assisted coding workflows; accessible with basic CLI/Git knowledge — no Python required | CLI/Git basics |
| Round 2 | 6 | Intro to Model Context Protocol | ~17 | 2–2.5 hrs | Understand how Claude connects to external tools and services — critical context for evaluating AI integrations in education | Python basics |
| Round 2 | 7 | Building with the Claude API | ~80+ | 8–12 hrs | Comprehensive developer course — RAG, agents, tool use, MCP, prompt engineering. Heavy lift but makes you conversant with everything your tech team is building | Python + JSON |
| Round 2 Total | ~14–20 hrs | |||||
| Full Program Total | ~19–26 hrs |
*Time estimates based on module counts; no official durations published. Building with the Claude API is the clear outlier in scope — it’s a full developer bootcamp, not a survey course.
