Does anyone have a suggestion for some free animation software. We are doing Claymations and I have used PowerPoint and Flash in the past but would like something free for students to be able to download and work from home. Ideas???

If you've got Snow Leopard on your Mac you can make claymation animation using Quicktime for free. I went to an Apple workshop and the instructor gave us a registration key for the older version of Quicktime so we can use it for animations. I think they don't mind now as the newer version is out.

Hi,I've found the following progs very useful (assuming you're using windows):- Stop Motion Animator http://www.animateclay.com/index.php?module=Pages&func=display&pageid=24 – simple, effective. Great withg webcams.- AnimatorDV simple http://animatordv.com/download_free.php – somewhat more powerful. Needs to run in WinXP compatibility mode if you've got a 64bit OS and more than 4GB RAM.- If you want it to do the "hard way": Single phtographs, then put them together using virtual Dub. Good quality, but no onion skinning, of course.- If you want to go with Linux: There is a special Stop-Motion Live CD http://stomox.blogsport.eu/333/, then there ist StopMotion http://stopmotion.bjoernen.com/ and Luciole https://launchpad.net/lucioleEnjoy,Uwe
