My finger hovered over the mouse button as I contemplated deleting my Flickr account.
I stopped myself but as all my images are replicated on PicasaWeb….why not nuke Flickr? I have a backup of all my images in multiple places, online and offline.
undecided….

Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!
Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!
I've probably missed your earlier posts on this, but why are you thinking of taking your images off Flickr? (I can understand a preference for other tools.)If your photos there are CC-licensed, the sharing benefits for others might be one good reason to leave your stuff there. As of last week, Flickr had over 134 million open-licensed photos, making it a rich resource for remixers.

If you don't care for using your Flickr account as your image portfolio, then I suppose it wouldn't make much difference for you if you nuked it. If you have CC-licensed photos in there, though, like Karen said, that could be passing up the chance to promote yourself through your images, as well as depriving some innocent blogger of your generously shared photos. So… your choice 🙂

I just started using Flickr (I know, I've been in the stoneage). I love that I can upload pics from my Smart Phone.
