Here are a few solutions I’m exploring for Anti-Spyware in response to this question:
Please help…I have a computer that is infected. The browser (IE 7) keeps going to homepagepark.com as the home page. I’m sure there is a free spyware removal tool I can use, but after searching I found that some of the ones that come up are actually rogue spyware programs themselves – like Antispyware 2008.
I’m not sure what to recommend, but here are a few solutions I ran across:
First, I would recommend you boot up off a CD-ROM or bootable Flash Drive, and, second, run these programs off your USB Flash Drive.
- CCleaner
- Revo Uninstaller
- Comodo BoClean AntiMalware
- Malware Bytes
- A-Squared HiJaack Free
- BHODemon
- SuperAntiSpyware Free edition
Any other suggestions?

Another nifty tool highlighted by Lifehacker folks is Hitman Pro.
Windows only: Free application Hitman Pro scans your system for malware using not one, not two, but eight different anti-malware applications. Essentially, Hitman Pro is a helper utility that runs up to eight different cleaning tools when you tell it to.
Hitman Pro combines Ad-Aware SE, SpyBot Search & Destroy, Spy Sweeper, Spyware Doctor, CWShredder, Spyware Blaster, NOD32, Sysclean package. Most of the included programs are freeware. Some of these programs are limited trial editions of commercial programs, and the user can decide to switch these off after the trial period.
The site is worth visiting to download Hitman Pro, but also to see the opening Flash animation…great!
