Eliminating E-rate: Slide Back to the Stone Age

What a shocker to imagine Internet access in schools without E rate to offset the costs. I still remember days before E rate, and after. It has been one of those blessings schools couldn't do without. Tearing It Down It

Tearing It Down

It should come as no surprise that the current “presidential” administration seeks to defund E-rate and, by extension, destroy public schools in America:

A program that helps connect schools and libraries to the internet at discounted rates is under review by the Federal Communications Commission. Educators and advocates are bracing for the funding to shrink or be eliminated…Less predictable was the chairman’s reasoning for reviewing the program: kids getting too much screen time source.

Imagine that. The real reason for destroying schools is far sinister. Taking away E-rate funding has profound impact on every aspect of schools. It is like sending schools back to the Stone Age.
